Ballon's niece was a Lorr who was supposedly deceased. However, Dorothea Ames claimed that she was alive and still living on Earth. This information made Ballon determined to defeat Miss Quill in order to get himself home. (TV: The Metaphysical Engine, or What Quill Did)
