Validity

When it comes to invalidity, this game is currently "guilty until proven innocent" due to the rulings on Legacy in Thread:161867 and Thread:186659. That said, I'd be interested in seeing an inclusion debate about Infinity, since (a) it was explicitly described by the BBC as canon, and (b) the previous rulings on Legacy completely failed to take into account the universally-recognised fundamental difference between story and gameplay. I'm not currently interested in starting such a debate myself, but let this post be a little helper for anyone who eventually decides to do so. – N8 13:41, August 10, 2018 (UTC)

I'd like to argue that Infinity is canon. All the reasons for Legacy not being canon are due to the infinite possibilities of character combinations going into different settings and not being able to narrow down the events. As well as fitting in with the 4 criteria of being canon, each story has a finite happening, not acknowledging the player "moving gems about". I don't see why this can't be in the DWU. Anything anyone needs to add? StevieGLiverpool 19:08, August 22, 2018 (UTC)
Well in regards to validity, this conversation should not be happening here. It should be happening on the forums. User:NateBumber only left the message there as a notice. --Borisashton 19:13, August 22, 2018 (UTC)
My mistake, I apologise. StevieGLiverpool 20:49, August 22, 2018 (UTC)
I have started this here, Thread:236104. StevieGLiverpool 13:17, August 23, 2018 (UTC)

Validity, not canon

So I closed the thread per Tardis:Canon policy. Please prepare well before opening the validity debate proper. And consider also this question: what would you like to propose as valid stories. I may be very wrong as I am very early in the game yet, but I believe, if anything can be considered a story, it is not the whole game. Shouldn't The Dalek Invasion of Time be one story, The Orphans of the Polyoptra another story, etc.? Amorkuz 00:06, September 6, 2018 (UTC)

Ok, I set the ball rolling. Please comment. Especially valuable would be details regarding linearity/non-linearity of the game experience, either from further in the game or that I missed. These details are crucial in determining whether it is feasible to curate the game's stories here on the wiki. Amorkuz 00:33, September 7, 2018 (UTC)

Plot sections for episodes

Sidestepping the validity discussion completely, I'm wondering why this page has a plot section for the contained episodes, rather than having those separated out to the actual episode pages themselves (like Adventure Games does). Would that not be a more sensible approach, rather than potentially duplicating information on both? JDPManjoume 00:33, September 28, 2020 (UTC)

Yeah, indeed it is. The page originally covered information from all stories, but someone went ahead and created one for each, and never removed the "plot" sections in this page. But now you've brought this into the spotlight, I'll do it. Thanks. OncomingStorm12th 21:28, October 1, 2020 (UTC)
