Ab urbe condita

Ab urbe condita (AUC) was Latin for "From the Foundation of the City". It was the basis of the Roman calendar.

The traditional date of the foundation of Rome was 1 AUC (753 BC).

The Battle of Actium took place in 723 AUC (31 BC). (PROSE: State of Change)
