- Apollo 34 is launched from Earth to establish Bowie Base One, mankind's first permanent colony on Mars. Commanded by Captain Adelaide Brooke, the trip to Mars will take two years (DW: The Waters of Mars).
- Omega attempts to take over the Doctor's mind via the Fusion Energy Research Network in California. The Doctor foils the plan with the help of fellow Time Lord Drax, and the K-9 he gave Sarah Jane Smith (Search for the Doctor).
