Yasmin Paige (born 9 June 1991[1]) played Maria Jackson during the first series of The Sarah Jane Adventures. She left as a member of the regular cast at the start of series 2, but cameoed later that same series.

Prior to Sarah Jane, Paige had perhaps received her greatest exposure from co-starring with Emma Watson and Marc Warren in the 2007 film Ballet Shoes, produced by Piers Wenger. The TV adaptation of a popular book of the same name was broadcast in many English-speaking countries. It received a limited theatrical release in the United States. However, she was already known to regular viewers of the CBBC prior to Sarah Jane, thanks to her two-year stint on the Saturday morning hourly, The Mysti Show. She had also appeared, in 2004, alongside Peter Davison in The Last Detective. Her first role was in the multi-award-winning 2003 film Wondrous Oblivion.

Following her departure from Sarah Jane, she was a regular in the 2009 serial Murderland, directed by Catherine Morshead, and was one of the stars of the 2010 film Submarine. In 2012, she returned to a regular role on the BBC — this time on the BBC Three comedy Pramface, under director Dan Zeff. She had a recurring role in 2017 on ITV's The Good Karma Hospital series 1 as girlfriend and waitress Josie Young.

In 2014, her starring role in Glue had her reunited with Tommy Knight, who also played a central character in the series.

In 2018 she read the short story Sarah Jane and the Temple of Eyes for the anthology The Day She Saved the Doctor: Four Stories from the TARDIS.
