Jason Kane's grandmother (on his mother's side) gave her husband a silver crucifix before he fought in Normandy in 1944. The crucifix killed him, inspiring Jason to line his jacket with layers of long-chain polycarbon micromesh. (PROSE: Death and Diplomacy)
