300 pages of new material

The article says there's "300 pages of new material" in the second edition, and yet there are only 192 more actual pages (704-512=192). Even assuming that 300 is an approximation, that's a pretty big discrepancy. Is 300 the total number of pages that differ between the two editions (192 pages that are completely new, and ~108 existing pages that have been edited to add new information)? Or were the existing pages laid out differently (e.g. margins, typeface, picture sizes) to reduce the previous version's text to ~404 pages, then an additional 300 pages were added of new information? --Psiphiorg 17:17, March 18, 2010 (UTC)
