Talk:Brian the Ood

Rename

Brian doesn't appear in PROSE: The Guide to the Dark Times, he's only described as part of River's Dark Times Times news article. While other species and characters could be said to appear as part of these historical accounts, Brian's entry is a simple description of his character, so it's clutching a straws to claim it merits an "appearance". Hence this should be moved back to Brian (Tales of the Dark Times). Danochy 00:22, October 16, 2020 (UTC)

Infobox image

The current image... doesn't look great. Here are some suggested replacements. None of them are really ideal, but I think it's worth discussing regardless. Since Brian's face isn't exactly unique, my view would be to show as much of his body as possible. His visual uniqueness stems from his tuxedo, so it makes sense to include that. Similarly, Mr Ball is a vital aspect of Brian's identity, so it would also make sense (at least to me) to include it in the infobox as well.

Of course, feel free to alter the crops in the above images if anyone feels they can be improved. Danochy 00:22, October 16, 2020 (UTC)

I've temporarily placed #2 in the infobox, as the first of the more T:GTI-compliant images. This is a temporary measure, and the final image will be decided on through discussion here.

I've added to the gallery an image from The Minds of Magnox that seems to me to be better than the current one, considering it's widescreen, looking to the left, and has both the tux and Mr Ball visible. The preceding unsigned comment was added by Elib876 (talk • contribs) .
It's a good source, but it seems a bit wide-shot. Scrooge MacDuck 17:02, 19 December 2020 (UTC)
Is the new one better? Elib876 17:50, 19 December 2020 (UTC)

Rename to Brian the Ood

As the {{rename}} tag says, "Brian the Ood" is Brian's full name, much like the Face of Boe. For example, in the show companion for Time Fracture, one of only two stories where there is an actor playing Brian and therefore any credits that could be useful to this topic, Brian is listed in the credits as "BRIAN THE OOD" (all names are fully capitalised). However, it is worth noting that in He Kills Me, He Kills Me Not, the other story where there is an actor playing Brian, he is only listed in the credits as Brian. Despite this, I do think that using the name "Brian the Ood" for this page is better as it is arguably more searchable than "Brian (The Guide to the Dark Times)". Bongo50 11:31, 17 June 2022 (UTC)

I agree with this! – n8 () 13:35, 17 June 2022 (UTC)
