Toshiko Sato's grandfather was born in Japan, and worked for Bletchley Park. (TV: Greeks Bearing Gifts)
He remained in London after the attack on Pearl Harbor at the end of 1941, but was racially persecuted. In the late 2000s, he celebrated his 88th birthday, a joyous year for the Japanese. Before she got stranded in the Ritz dance hall in Cardiff in 1941, Tosh intended to celebrate the occasion by "[going] off to London to watch grown men throw rice". (TV: Captain Jack Harkness)
