Space City was a 21st century Earth city. Presided over by Commander Zero, it was the headquarters of the World Space Patrol and was also notable as the home of Fireball XL5 and its crew.

History

In January 2065, Lieutenant Ninety contacted Fireball XL5 from the Space City Control Tower to get Steve Zodiac to investigate a mayday coming from Area 4 of Sector 25. (COMIC: The Batmen) Later, the news that Steve had died reached Space City from XL5. Commander Zero answered questions from a TV 21 reporter about Steve's condition, stating he was "completely confident" in Doctor Venus's ability to resolve the situation. (COMIC: Genesis of Evil) Steve contacted Zero at Space City after he was successfully revived by Venus and Professor Matic, with Zero informing Steve that the space freighter hijacked by Batman which Fireball found had moved to edge of Sector 25, almost in hyperspace. (COMIC: The Batmen) TV Century 21 reported on its front page on 30 January that Space City Headquarters "buzzed with excitement" at the news Fireball had landed on an unknown asteroid in hyperspace. Zero led a press conference and explained that Fireball had made the discovery whilst hunting a space freighter. (PROSE: Stingray Attacked!) However, Zero later stormed out of this conference when the subject of Venus's capture was broached. (COMIC: Genesis of Evil) On their front page from 13 February, TV Century 21 stated Space City was "stunned" at the "shock news" that Steve had surrendered Fireball XL5 to the Batmen. Commander Zero was "far too busy" to speak to reporters about this latest development but "information from a usually reliable source" indicated that combat ships had been placed on Emergency Red. (PROSE: Fireball Surrenders!) Space City officials subsequently expressed concern for the safety of the Fireball crew should the leader of the Batmen take revenge for Robert the Robot's attack. (COMIC: Power Play)

After their submarine was sunk by the Stingray, the trio of assassins behind the murder of the 610th Kaplan of Astra were picked up by the Cranborne to be taken to Space City. (COMIC: Stingray)
