The Daleks were typically organised into task-forces, (TV: Genesis of the Daleks, Resurrection of the Daleks, Attack of the Cybermen, Remembrance of the Daleks) led by Taskforce Commanders. (AUDIO: Pretty Lies)

History

The Sixth Doctor recalled that Gustave Lytton was associated with the Dalek Task Force. (TV: Attack of the Cybermen) Indeed, Lytton, acting on behalf of the Supreme Dalek and Alpha Dalek, had served alongside a force of Grey Daleks in the aftermath of the Dalek-Movellan War. Lytton personally commanded a group of Dalek Troopers on the mission to retrieve Davros from the Prison Station to gain his assistance against the Movellan virus. (TV: Resurrection of the Daleks)

A Dalek task-force consisting of several Dalek flying saucers was dispatched to Spiridon by the Golden Emperor with the Black Dalek in charge and the Seventh Doctor on-board as part of an effort to recover Davros, in hiding since his escape from execution at his trial. It included at least one Special Weapons Dalek. (COMIC: Emperor of the Daleks!)

A Dalek Taskforce Commander, serving under the Dalek Time Strategist, led the Dalek attack on Fergil in the Last Great Time War. (AUDIO: Pretty Lies)

During the Asylum Incident, the Eleventh Doctor suggested that the Parliament of the Daleks could send in a small taskforce of a "couple of Daleks" to lower the force field of the Dalek Asylum, but understood that he had been summoned because the Daleks feared the Asylum's inmates too much to do it themselves. (TV: Asylum of the Daleks)

Behind the scenes

The term is rendered as "Dalek task-force" in the novelisations The Mutation of Time, Doctor Who and the Genesis of the Daleks and Remembrance of the Daleks, while "Dalek Task Force" is used in Attack of the Cybermen and "Dalek Taskforce" in COMIC: Emperor of the Daleks!. The Attack of the Cybermen spelling latter use echoes the Dalek Task Force from the feature of the same name in The Dalek World.
