Epaulette

The epaulette is an ornamental shoulder piece on an item of clothing, especially on the coat or jacket of a military uniform:

As the General, Morbius wore a sky blue uniform with gold epaulettes. (PROSE: Warmonger)

Some Sontarans wore armour with epaulettes, such as Grand Marshal Stike. (TV: The Two Doctors)

Both sides of the Napoleonic War wore gold epaulettes, including Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte and Field Marshal Arthur Wellesley, the first Duke of Wellington.
