Controller (Total Eclipse of the Heart)

A NASA Mission Controller oversaw the flight of the colony ship Heart in 2070. He communicated with the crew throughout their journey out of Earth's atmosphere and during a slingshot orbit of the Moon. He was also aware that the mission was a hoax, and that the Heart had been designed to explode mid-flight, giving the appearance of hyperspace travel to onlookers on Earth. When Danielle confronted him about this he first pretended not to hear her, before thanking her and the crew for bringing hope to humanity. (PROSE: Total Eclipse of the Heart)
