Bill Nighy is the actor who portrayed Dr. Black in the Series 5 episode Vincent and the Doctor. This episode was written by Richard Curtis for whom Nighy has worked with several times before. Notable instances include the films 'Love Actually' and 'The Boat that Rocked'
