They both met the Doctor when they were children, both thinking he was an imaginary friend. Then he returns years later, and they both notice he hasn't aged at all. Good trivia? And can you think of any other parallels? The Thirteenth Doctor 21:15, June 1, 2010 (UTC)

  • And another one. They both first met him when they were seven. The Thirteenth Doctor 21:17, June 1, 2010 (UTC)
  • They both want to sleep with the Doctor when they're older.
  • They're both with men (Rory and the King) who are very good but still not good enough for them.
  • They're both beautiful, intelligent, strong women.
  • Both have many similarities with Susan in Coupling as Steve sees her, and with Sue Vertue in real life as Steven Moffat sees her. --Falcotron 02:54, June 2, 2010 (UTC)
  • He was too late for both of them (Reinette died, "why did you say six months" etc in TEH)
  • The doctor promised to show them both the stars and the universes beyond
  • An opposite is that the doctor couldn't say Reinette as he couldn't save Rory - or is that pushing it a bit?
Also, has Karen Gillan been involved with Matt Smith, like Tennant and the one who played Reinette were? --Jjbest 08:40, June 2, 2010 (UTC)
I think the Rory bit is pushing it. And Matt and Karen are not "involved". She has a boyfriend, but I think that maybe before the year is over... The Thirteenth Doctor 12:15, June 2, 2010 (UTC)
There's all sorts of parallels between this series and The Girl in the Fireplace in general... in TGITF and The Beast Below, the Doctor finds a country (UK/France) and an unusual animal (star whale/horse) on a spaceship; both TGITF and Victory of the Daleks have android characters (Bracewell/clockwork droids), and the bad guys are collecting things (human parts/testimony) to get their spacecraft working again; in TGITF and The Time of Angels, the Doctor detects the presence of the enemy by looking at a (statue/clock) and finding one (head/ticking) when, if the (statue/clock) was in proper order there would be two (heads/tickings)... —209.169.196.24 20:07, June 5, 2010 (UTC)
