Biography

Arnold Jellicoe was related to Wendy Jennings. (AUDIO: Mirror, Signal, Manoeuvre [+]Loading...["Mirror, Signal, Manoeuvre (audio story)"]) According to one account, he worked at Thinktank as Hilda Winters' assistant. (TV: Robot [+]Loading...["Robot (TV story)"]) According to another, he was Thinktank's Public Relations Officer and thus responsible for journalists who visited the organisation. Despite his hard work and willing, he always managed to get on Miss Winters' nerves. (PROSE: Doctor Who and the Giant Robot [+]Loading...["Doctor Who and the Giant Robot (novelisation)"])

Jellicoe assisted Miss Winters in her plans for the Scientific Reform Society to steal nuclear codes from the world powers using K1, the prime directive of which he was responsible for adjusting despite his lack of proper training. He and Miss Winters gave the visiting Sarah Jane Smith a tour of Thinktank, during which she intruded in the Robotics section, and he activated K1 to demonstrate that he was harmless when she returned without authorisation. Jellicoe was arrested after the SRS was broken up by UNIT. Jellicoe had died in prison sometime before 2002, after Winters had already been released. (AUDIO: Mirror, Signal, Manoeuvre [+]Loading...["Mirror, Signal, Manoeuvre (audio story)"])

Legacy

Personality

Jellicoe was nervous and fussy. Despite being a hard worker, he got on Hilda Winters' nerves. (PROSE: Doctor Who and the Giant Robot [+]Loading...["Doctor Who and the Giant Robot (novelisation)"]) Jeremiah Kettlewell denied that he and Winters were scientists and described them as "incompetent nincompoops" (TV: Robot [+]Loading...["Robot (TV story)"]) or "incompetent bunglers". (PROSE: Doctor Who and the Giant Robot [+]Loading...["Doctor Who and the Giant Robot (novelisation)"])

Appearance

Jellicoe had blue eyes and thinning fair hair which he combed over a bald patch. Despite being in his late thirties, he wore trendy clothes and looked overdressed as a result. (PROSE: Doctor Who and the Giant Robot [+]Loading...["Doctor Who and the Giant Robot (novelisation)"])
