When the STARSHED found itself in the Leven Nebula, Patience Patience told Doctor Doctor that she believed they'd gone through a "Pickle Storm" before winking towards the camera. (TV: Space Bandits! [+]Loading...["Space Bandits! (TV story)"])

Behind the scenes

The name "Pickle Storm" is a clear reference to the series Pickle Storm, which features the actors portraying the "space bandits" in Space Bandits! [+]Loading...["Space Bandits! (TV story)"], and which was discussed in the full Saturday Mash-Up! episode during which the sketch was aired, Pickle Storm, Viper Sport & Strictly, hence Patience Patience's wink towards the camera.

In Pickle Storm, the title refers to the titular character.
