Barack Obama was the President of the United States of America in the early part of the 21st century. He was making a publicized speech on the recession when he was, like everyone else on Earth, turned into a copy of the Master - who made the remark that the world economic crisis was "deleted" - before being returned to normal with the rest of the human race. Barack Obama succeeded Arthur Coleman Winters, though it was not clear whether he was Winters' direct successor.
Behind the scenes
- Barack Obama was played in The End of Time by a stand-in whose face was not seen, but could be seen wearing glasses during his transformation scene. The actor's back was to the camera and a sound clip of the real Obama's voice was heard as the character began his speech. In the Doctor Who Confidential episode, the actor's face is briefly seen during a break.
