John Dorney is a voice actor and writer for Big Finish Productions.

In 2014 he was a member of a team made up of Doctor Who fans on the BBC quiz show Only Connect.

He, along with the rest of the team behind Doom Coalition 3, won the 2017 BBC Audio Award for his story Absent Friends, a story heavily influenced by the death of his father. He won the 2016 Scribe Award for the best tie-in fiction in the category "Audio" for the story The Red Lady.[1]

By 2022, Dorney had written 100 Doctor Who stories which he believed might be a first. [2]
