Agh, yeah, sorry we're aware. It is very frustrating, but it's not an "accident" — they've been temporarily disabled because the server was undergoing severe strain, causing loading issues for a lot of users and even short downtime. We're currently brainstorming ways to optimise so that we won't have to keep resorting to such crude measures. (Well, techier people than myself are. I largely just observe and cheer them on…) --Scrooge MacDuck 22:29, 13 November 2024 (UTC)

Yes, Scrooge is correct. I'm hoping that they will be re-enabled soon. Bongo50 22:31, 13 November 2024 (UTC)
If there's any subset that you find particuarly useful, I can see about getting those enabled again sooner than the others. Bongo50 22:32, 13 November 2024 (UTC)
We really should have made an announcement about this, even though it's temporary. Sorry about that.
We'll post any updates here. Like the others, I'm hoping we can re-enable these soon.

It's been a month now; will these be re-enabled anytime soon, or is this change to be permanent? Doug86 20:48, 17 December 2024 (UTC)
To my understanding, not permanent but neither is it short-term — it may have to wait until a server upgrade or somesuch. --Scrooge MacDuck 22:23, 17 December 2024 (UTC)

Doug, those listed special pages were disabled in an effort to maintain uptime and earlier this morning Tardis wiki did encounter a slight hiccup. This means that current efforts are insufficient. Sysadmins in consultation with Soto made emergency decision to sacrifice quality of life for uptime. --Tardis sysadmin 01:51, 18 December 2024 (UTC)
