Nero Claudius Caesar Augustus Germanicus, born Lucius Domitius Ahenobarbus, also called Nero Claudius Drusus Germanicus, was the fifth Roman Emperor. In the year 64 AD, Nero's slave buyer Tavius bought Barbara Wright and brought her to the palace. Nero immediately took to her and chased her round the palace. When The Doctor came to stay pretending to be the famous lyre player Maximus Pettulian, Nero grew jealous of his popularity. He was about to kill him when the Doctor accidentally set fire to Nero's rejected plans for a new Rome, the Emperor was inspired to burn the old capital so his new city could be built as he was refused permission to do so by the senate.
