Jim Smith wrote several audio stories and prose stories. His favorite writer of all-time is Gary Russell, to whom he dedicated his audio adventure, The Adventure of the Diogenes Damsel, describing Russell as 'my muse'. He also writes Love Thy Neighbour slash fiction.
