Time Lord Academy
The Time Lord Academy was a place where most young Time Lords attended to further their educations. According to the Doctor, children " were taken from their families at the age of eight" to begin their instruction. Part of the initiation into the academy involved looking into the Untempered Schism. (DW: The Sound of Drums) Time Lords spent "centuries" at the Academy. (DWM: Mortal Beloved) There was a TARDIS cradle in the Time Lord Academy for students who had formed a symbiotic bond, but hadn't left the Academy yet. (BFA: The Apocalypse Element) Although we do not know The Doctor's, The Master's, or The Rani's real names, while at the Academy they referred to themselves as Ushas (The Rani), Theta Sigma (The Doctor), and Koschei (The Master).
When a Gallifreyan has been granted the rank of Junior Time Lord in the Time Lord Academy, they receive their symbiotic nuclei. (EDA: Interference - Book One)

There were several chapters within the Time Lord Academy. These included:

- Scendles Chapter
- Dvora Chapter (rumored)
At the induction ceremony for the Academy all Time Lords say:
- "I swear to protect the ancient Law of Gallifrey with all my might and brain. I will to the end of my days, with justice and with honour temper my actions and my thoughts." (DW: Shada)
