ITV

ITV (Independent Television) was a broadcasting company in the 20th century onwards. It was a rival to the BBC and attracted large viewing figures.

Its longest running soap opera was Coronation Street.

History

• Kathy Nightingale and Sally Sparrow discussed their own series of adventures known as "Sparrow and Nightingale", and suggested it air on ITV. (DW: Blink)

• After the Tenth Doctor disconnected his Sonic screwdriver from his companion's remote, he warned them not to switch to ITV that night or the galaxy would implode. (DW: Attack of the Graske)
• When the Eleventh Doctor saved the Albert Hall from being blown up, one of the side effects noted was that ITV went off air. (SP: Doctor Who at the Proms (2010))
