Since the thousands-of-years-old-stetson-wearing Doctor that we see in the opening two episodes dies, what do you think will happen to his TARDIS? Obviously since they can't exactly kill off the main character permanently, time will be rewritten and the Doctor will survive, but that possible future self will still have been killed. So what do you think would happen to his TARDIS? Do you think it would have stayed where he left it? Or once time is rewritten do you think it'll stop existing? I think it would be a good plot device so that the Master could return and have a TARDIS of his own, or if any other time lord was to return! What do you think will happen to it? --The Thirteenth Doctor 15:28, April 22, 2011 (UTC)

Well, who's to say it's the Stetson wearing Doctor that dies? It could be Amy, Rory, or River... You never know.... TheTARDIScontroller 15:31, April 22, 2011 (UTC)

What??? Where did you hear that the Doctor dies? Or that it is a future doctor? -- Rest In Peace Sarah Jane \ Talk to me! 15:32, April 22, 2011 (UTC)

It was established about 2 weeks ago that the stetson Doctor is from the future and is the one who dies in the first 10 minutes. I expect the Silence may steal his TARDIS? Or River uses it? --Revan\Talk 15:34, April 22, 2011 (UTC)

Can you show me where? A link? I missed it, somehow. Thanks!! -- Rest In Peace Sarah Jane \ Talk to me! 15:47, April 22, 2011 (UTC)

As the Doctor says in The Parting of the Ways, it will just be there and gather dust.----Skittles the hog--Talk 15:35, April 22, 2011 (UTC)

We know that River is in the same scene as him and she can pilot the TARDIS so she might take it somewhere safe from the Silence. --Revan\Talk 15:42, April 22, 2011 (UTC)

Just for those who want to see a good Q&A about the opening 2 parter its here: [1] --Revan\Talk 15:50, April 22, 2011 (UTC)

Actually, the Future Doctor's Tardis never actually appears onscreen. I have a feeling that may be a plot point. Monkey with a Gun 11:09, April 27, 2011 (UTC)

Yeah that is what I have been thinking, I mean look at the start of TIA with the future doctor doing lots of stuff in history. What if he lost his TARDIS and had to take the long route to 2011 to meet up with everyone? Although a flaw in this theory is that it would require time lords to be able to go 200 odd years in one incarnation without looking older, I'm not sure if they can do that or not. Anyone know? MAX1592 14:18, May 10, 2011 (UTC)
Just realised that either way he is 200 years older so clearly they can. MAX1592 14:23, May 10, 2011 (UTC)
Rule One: The Doctor lies. Boblipton 01:28, May 11, 2011 (UTC)
Actually, he does look slightly different--they deliberately added tiny clues, like accentuating the wrinkles around his eyes. The idea is presumably that "Time Lord years" are like "dog years" in reverse--200 years for him is like around 4 years for us. That fits in reasonably well with evidence from the classic show, novels, and BFAs--the 450-year-old First Doctor being weakened by old age, other Time Lords considering regenerating because they'd been "too long in this body", Susan looking 20 when her husband died, etc. (The only mystery is why Tom Baker and David Tennant clearly aged at human-like rates, and most multi-Doctor stories show the early Doctors looking much older than they had when they regenerated... but I think those are more along the lines of "production errors" than actual plot points or flaws.)
But it's an interesting possibility that maybe he wasn't TARDISing through history for 200 years; maybe he traveled for a short time and then landed in the 1810s to go deep under cover and got to 2011 the long way. Obviously there's no evidence for that, but there's no real evidence against it either (other than Occam's razor). --99.33.26.0 06:10, May 11, 2011 (UTC)

Didn't you find it odd that the Future Doctor was lounging on top of the red car at the beginning of the Impossible Astronaut? It seems like he owns it. Where did that car come from in the first place? It is my theory that the red car is the TARDIS. If the Doctor has been running for the past 200 years, it might be likely that he decided to fix the chameleon circuit allowing the TARDIS to shapeshift into something more modern, such as a car. -- Atmo 24.60.56.90 22:18, May 11, 2011 (UTC)

It's definately possible he fixed the circut somewhere along the way. Although the idea of him owning the car is also consistent with the idea of him being trapped in the past and being forced to live through 200+ years of human history. That would also explain why he kept showing up in the fairly recent past and was apparently trying to get Amy and Rory's attention through history. Falrinn 22:40, May 11, 2011 (UTC)

Unfortunately for that theory, Atmo, James II reigned in the 17th Century. That's more than 300 years. While it's true that the Doctor lies... Boblipton 15:16, May 14, 2011 (UTC)
He probably had more trips through Earth history than the ones we saw, so it's still possible that the last one ended with him in the 1810s. But, as I said above, interesting theory, but there's really no evidence for it, and my guess is that the Moff didn't use the idea.. --99.33.25.110 13:31, May 15, 2011 (UTC)
