Howling:Timeline restored
Please DO NOT add to this discussion.
As we know the cracks are eating up events and people alot of our favourite invasions have gone leaving people conviently unaware of alien invasions again allowing for more freedom story telling wise. I.E. now moff dosen't have to keep reeferencing stuff that happened during the RTD era people can be shocked to see aliens rather than "oh thats no big thing there were these mad potato men and evil pepperpots a couple of years ago, and before that there were these cyber bullies not to metion all the christmas invasions." Only thing is with these invasions gone who knows what state the whoniverse is in now, is davros still around where is rose donna martha or the tenth doctor. I am aware of the theories posted on this forum to explain how the eleventh doctor could still be around with these events gone but still even with those theories explaining how the eleventh doctor is here alot of people are not going to be happy that say the war in the medusa cascade never happened in the current version of history. Thats why I think all the history will be returned to normal at the end of the finale I dont see this as an attempt on Moffats part to get us to an earth that isn't aware of aliens even though I would like to see that for the reasons I said. I could be wrong and I am open to other ideas but I personally think that everything will be restored in whatever the big battle in the finale with all those rogues. This could see the return of rory [ I know he is in the finale but I mean full time], though maybe not as he was killed before he got sucked in, perhaps this will be a bit of both in that some events will be restored but others wont, whatever the case I think all of history will be restored to its original timeline though if you think I am wrong please correct me. user:winehousefan, 23:20, June 10, 2010 [UTC]
I think that it will not be clear which events 'survive'; it will be up to future writers to select to fit what best makes a good story. Most likely to big events won't as they kind of ruin drama set on the present Earth. Who is going to scared of monsters if they have done so much to hte Earth. So no Dalek planet snatching and so CyberKing most likely but smaller things remain. Conjecture alert! Now that isn't to say that the events did not not happen; they still did. The Doctor (and you) saw them so they did happen and that cant actually be erased (the programme cannot alter your memory (well not much; just reveal some detail you have not seen yet)). All of the events in the Doctos personal history (the ones you have seen or read) still happened to him and are real. It's just that some of them may not be part of the reality experienced by some other members of the universe after all of this is over. I've got no problem with this; the best of both worlds to me.
