In the cast section, can we add Mark Sheppard as Canton Deleware III since we know for a fact that he's in the episode? TheTARDIScontroller 18:02, April 21, 2011 (UTC)

Interesting point, Mark Sheppard is the real world son of Morgan Sheppard (older Canton Deleware III). Mike London UK 19:15, April 23, 2011 (UTC) Mike_London_UK 20:14, April 23, 2011 (UTC)

Oh I know... Both of them voiced characters in my favorite video game, The Conduit. Mark Sheppard voiced the main character, Michael Ford, and his father voiced Micheal Ford's enemy. TheTARDIScontroller 21:37, April 23, 2011 (UTC)

Episode two airdate

BBC has confirmed that the seoond episode will air on 30 April. Can we please put that rumor to rest? Please refer to series six talk page for details. Thanks! -- Rest In Peace Sarah Jane \ Talk to me! 18:22, April 21, 2011 (UTC)

Air date

I can't edit the page, but it says aired on April 21st, which freaked me out for a minute since today is the 22nd, but everywhere else says it is airing for the first time tomorrow, the 23rd. Roleyus 08:19, April 22, 2011 (UTC)

It IS out today... http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b010tb7q/Doctor_Who_Series_6_The_Impossible_Astronaut/ --Tyw7 23:28, April 23, 2011 (UTC)

TV story

Can someone add '(tv story)' to the title? Bluriteboy 16:15, April 23, 2011 (UTC)

Why? It will remain as The Impossible Astronaut unless there is something else in the episode called The Impossible Astronaut. Mini-mitch\talk 16:17, April 23, 2011 (UTC)

Error

There's an error in the Story Notes section. Here it is : A prequel for this story was released on the offcial BBC website. I am presuming this is talking about the story... unless this is about the Conservative Party. (Canada) K'jal'mar ( The talk| Contribs) 17:17, April 23, 2011 (UTC)

Spaceship

The spaceship in this episode is the same as the one in The Lodger (Season 5)

Myths section

OK, how can we be sure that the "We will see River Song as a child" statement is really false ? The little girl in this episode could be the young River... Nafoute 18:45, April 23, 2011 (UTC)

Umm then she would have been killed before her adventure even started... unless Steven found a way to bring her back --Tyw7  (☎ Contact me! • Contributions)   Changing the world one edit at a time! 23:37, April 23, 2011 (UTC)
But the trailer for episode 2 starts with Amy apologizing to the little girl saying "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to shoot you" accompanied by a new shot of the girl opening the visor of the helmet showing a bullet hole in a position that shows the shot missed.
Jobe1986 00:06, April 24, 2011 (UTC)
I think this is still unproven, but it seems to be an error. First, if that actually the same model of console that appeared in THE LODGER, then that little girl may be the same holographic program little girl from the earlier episode. Second, River states that the Doctor knew everything about her when they first met. That's not the situation currently.
I'd leave it as is for the moment, although there may be more editing due after the second episode airs.

The Co-ordinates.

Anyone else googled the co-ordinates? Sent me to Ottowa, Canada. Maybe this should be in the "Continuity" section :/

Skip

Hey did anyone else notice a little jump or skip at exactly 18:21? Maybe it's just my version of the episode but it seems deliberate, there's even what sounds like a spooky music cue exactly after it happens. Given the powers of the Silence, and the time skips we saw in "The Lodger" I think it's possible this could be on purpose. Can anyone confirm/deny whether or not there's an actual skip in the episode? FixtheFernback 23:19, April 23, 2011 (UTC)

There is no skip. http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b010tb7q/Doctor_Who_Series_6_The_Impossible_Astronaut/--Tyw7  (☎ Contact me! • Contributions)   Changing the world one edit at a time! 23:40, April 23, 2011 (UTC)
Oh darn. Just a coincidence then I guess. Funny, it really did look like it could have been purposefully inserted. FixtheFernback 00:44, April 24, 2011 (UTC)

Pregnacy

So shouldn't the fact that amy is pregnant be added to continuty also amy remembering the previous times she saw the aliens isnt a production error it's clearly delibrate possibly from her pregnacy (if it isnt rory's and if that's true 47 MORE YEARS!)

Continuity - River Song

On the Page it says:

"River Song suggests in this episode that her and the Doctor are not meeting in random order, as has been implied before, but are actually meeting in the opposite order. This has been true so far, as every episode she has been in has been earlier in her timeline than the one before it"

I think it's necessary to add clearly, that her statement only applies to the on-screen events, but not to the off-screen events that are mentioned in the story. If they always met in the opposite order, which means that one always is older and remembers thing while the other one keeps getting younger and does not know any of the events, there could be none commom memories.

The Doctor: Library, Angels, Pandorica, Astronaut (909)-Astronaut (1,103)

River Song: Astronaut(1,103-then 909), Pandorica, Angels, Library (Death)

I think this is the order in which they experience the meetings so far (on-screen). But we have to add the mentioned offscreen events "Easter Island and Jim the Fish". At their first meeting in the Impossible Astronaut they both have entries in their diaries that mention those events. Therefore they had to meet off-screen, when the doctor was between the age of 909 an 1,103 and River was younger than in this story. Afterwards they both aged and met again in the Impossible Astronaut. They both remember these events so they have to happen in a the order "Easter Island and Jim the Fish" and then the Astronaut for River and the Doctor. It is obvious, that this is not the oppositional order but the same direction they went in their timelines. This only happend because of the meeting with the older version of the doctor. With the younger one (909) River's statement is in conformity. Hope it's understandable what I mean.95.208.116.246 13:31, April 24, 2011 (UTC)

  • However, in this episode, River has the vortex manipulator she would have received after Pandorica/Big Bang. By Angels/Flesh, she no longer has the manipulator, leading me to believe it goes Pandorica/Big Bang, Astronaut/Moon, Angels/Flesh, Library/Forest. See River's Talk page for my explanation in full. --Witoki 14:19, April 24, 2011 (UTC)
    • In this case her statement would be wrong, too. I assumend that it applies at least to the on-screen story. But if you're right (and I don't argue about that, since it's not my point), my whole explanation about the off-screen thing wouldn't be necessary to show that her statement ist wrong as the both would have Pandorica/Big Bang as a common event (which shouldn't exist according to an oppositional order).95.208.116.246 14:44, April 24, 2011 (UTC)
    • If they always met in exactly opposite orders, then the Diary would serve no point. She meant in general that their meetings are all off. Plus, the Doctor meets River and takes her to the Opera just before Library as well, meaning that they eventually start meeting in a stable order towards the end of her life.

Continuty-Three Knocks

Shouldn't it be added that the doctor was shot three times (knocks)?

  • The prophecy was four knocks, not three, and it already came true in The End of Time.

I just watched the scene back, and the third shot doesn't seem to come from the astronaut, but comes from the right, so maybe someone is shooting, the silent perhaps?... also, i found it strange there just happened to be a boat docked in the lake, maybe the Doctor sailed away? 90.192.36.220 18:24, April 24, 2011 (UTC)

Stop vandalizing the plot

Someone just reverted the plot to its earlier version a few hours ago reducing it from 8 scenes to only 3. I have no idea why that was done in the wiki but if someone is going to take such a step, they should confirm here first. Thanks, Arunreginald 17:25, April 24, 2011 (UTC)

Yes, having the plot appear and vanish is really getting ANNOYING! If someone thinks he's the spoiler police, guess what? YOU ARE NOT! Most of the world has seen this episode now, so stop it! Lmb02 17:52, April 24, 2011 (UTC)

The plot was reduced by an admin because it was far too long, the plot section should summarize the major developments of the story, not detail every interaction between each character. --Revan\Talk 17:57, April 24, 2011 (UTC)

Can you narrow it down a little more? The first paragraphs are super-detailed (way too detailed for the wiki) and the last few are like you said, high points. Thanks! -- Rest In Peace Sarah Jane \ Talk to me! 23:23, April 24, 2011 (UTC)

Why wait with the final shot?

The Astronaut shot the doctor twice, and then the third time when the doctor started to expell energy from his arms and head. My question is, why did the astronaut wait untill the doctor was in that state, he could just have shot him when the doctors hand started to glow.

I also found it abit odd that when the doctor was shot the last time that there was some sort of a shockwave that came from him. You could see it ripple on the water.

I thimk it might be a staser to stop him regenerating maybe they can only do it WHILE he was changing

I don't believe it was any special type of laser gun (or whatever they are called), but it has been explored before during the Tennant Era that the Doctor can be killed before regeneration, much like the Master's 'death' in "Last of the Time Lords". I think it was also mentioned in "The End of Time, Part 2". Rassilon of Old (Talk - TTFF - Teru) 14:07, April 25, 2011 (UTC)
It's more dramatic this way.

World War II?

Did this show take place in World War II? It is listed as the first setting in the info box. Should it be there? If so, shouldn't England be listed as a setting as well? -- Rest In Peace Sarah Jane \ Talk to me! 15:52, April 25, 2011 (UTC)

Yeah, put them in order of appearance so: England, WWII, Stormcage, Utah, White House, Florida.----Skittles the hog--Talk 16:04, April 25, 2011 (UTC)

Was that the part where he was crawling through the tunnel? I've been wondering about that. -- Rest In Peace Sarah Jane \ Talk to me! 20:10, April 25, 2011 (UTC)

Continuity

It seems likely that the doctor's "I'm sorry" when he is dying is a reference to Tennants tenth doctor. Unfortunately, as an anon, I can't edit. 77.248.138.31 19:40, April 25, 2011 (UTC)

  • I don't think its a reference to the 10th Doctor. Lot's of people say "I'm sorry" and while the 10th is known for his over-use of it, the doctor saying it in this situation doesn't seem like a reference at all, especially since the 10th didn't say "I'm sorry" while regenerating. Rawrgoaway 20:18, April 25, 2011 (UTC)
  • It could also point to River in the exploding Tardis during the Pandorica/Big Bang episodes: she says repeatedly, "I'm sorry, my love." Those words were what the Doctor, Rory and Amy heard over and over again by pointing the modified satellite dish at the "sun" in Big Bang, so the Doctor has heard River say those words repeatedly.
  • Posts should be signed :\ and again, i still think it isn't a reference to anything. I think it's meaning has something to do with something that has yet to happen. The Doctor is apologizing for something that happened to whoever is in the suit. Also, "I'm sorry" is pretty common to say, and i don't see any reason why the doctor would say that just because he overheard River saying it. It seems pretty far fetched to be a reference to a past saying of "I'm Sorry". Rawrgoaway 07:21, May 31, 2011 (UTC)

There is no Boom Mike error.

It is someone behind him walking down the hall. You can only see the top of the persons head. Watch it carefully, it has the walking gait of a human. Additionally, boom mikes are usually not behind the person speaking beneath shoulder level. They do not work that way.

  • Well it's certainly an error. It's not a person. It hovers there for a few seconds. And nobody else is in the hallway. --The Thirteenth Doctor 21:47, April 25, 2011 (UTC)

It isn't a boom mike, ane not an error, as you can hear footsteps if you listen very carefully. It is definitely a person, or maybe the Silence. Rassilon of Old (Talk - TTFF - Teru) 03:03, April 26, 2011 (UTC)

It seems to sink in a stepping motion and yeah there are definitely what sound like footsteps.Carnivius Prime 09:39, April 29, 2011 (UTC)

No, unless your suggesting that a person bobbed up and down behind his shoulder, its an error. I thought it was a person at first but then I realised that it can't be.----Skittles the hog--Talk 16:03, April 29, 2011 (UTC)

Enemies

Shouldn't the Immpossible astronaut (or spaceman whatever it's called) be listed as an enemy since they did kill the doctor. Also is it being called spaceman a nod to donna's nickname for the tenth doctor?

  • No, because the nature of the astronaut has yet to be revealed and the next episode suggests whoever was inside the spacesuit was a victim. The only confirmed villains in this initial 2 parter are The Silence. 68.146.78.43 03:41, May 1, 2011 (UTC)

Ganger Amy (spoilers)

according to the production team amy in this story is a ganger. should we update the article and the template or maybe just leave it as is for spoiler reasons? Gailim 04:56, May 29, 2011 (UTC)

  • I think Ganger Amy only shows up in the next episode, when she is rescued after being abducted by the silence. Either way i think it should be left how it is since we only discover it later on. Rawrgoaway 07:15, May 31, 2011 (UTC)
  • The Doctor confirms that Amy is a ganger before coming to America in A Good Man Goes To War so it should be changed to reflect that.Zodisgod 19:02, June 5, 2011 (UTC)
    • No, it shouldn't, because the viewer isn't supposed to know that yet. -- MisterRandom2 19:11, June 5, 2011 (UTC)

4 Envelopes

I know it's most likely to be the older doctor who dies who sent them but is there actually any evidence that he did? Until there is I think all that info should be removed. -- Michael Downey 14:35, June 9, 2011 (UTC)
