Bane was an organic ingredient found in the Bubble Shock! soft drink. It resisted analysis, as if alive. [statement unclear] In reality it was an enzyme secreted by the Bane Mother which had addictive properties. The Mother could then telepathically control Bane drinkers. However, while Bane affected 98% of the Human population, 2% had an immunity. The Bane created the Archetype in order to find out why 2% had the biological resistance. (SJA: Invasion of the Bane)
