Sugar MacAuley meets The Doctor during the maiden voyage of a new "Quantum Transpositional Vehicle" ( BBCR: The Last Voyage ). The new vehicle is so fast that it can travel from Lunar Base to the Larger Magellenic Cloud in just under 90 minutes instead of several months.
Sugar is working as an "Executive Class Comfort Mediator" for Novalunar Corporation and has earned her place on the ship by lottery.
While reminiscing about her "Auntie" who lived in the Toronto Towers, Sugar mentions that she had never seen a bird before. This suggests that Sugar also lived in the large city.
