Fleet was a word often used to describe a group of ships working or traveling together. Fleets were often used in war. Throughout history, fleets had been prevalent on planets as well as in space.
Fleets on planets
In the history of Earth, fleets were used for many purposes, such as war. Since these conflicts took place on a planet, they involved naval ships as opposed to starships. (DWA: H.M.S. TARDIS)
