George Herbert was an acquaintance of Agnes Havisham. He and Agnes were riding in the Torchwood carriage when it was attacked by Weevils, who killed the horse and driver. Agnes planned to drive them off by distracting them with a flare gun and shooting them. Herbert, being new to this, accidentally let off the flare inside the carriage, killing a Weevil and driving off the rest. (TWN: Risk Assessment)
