Teleport pod
Teleport Pods were used by the Sontarans during the Sontaran invasion of Earth in 2009.
The pods resembled large cubes with platforms and small activation consoles inside. A pod's machinery was vulnerable to sonic waves but could be repaired quickly with a Sontaran baton.
Small beacons were also used in the campaign. These resembled discs and could be attatached to surfaces, allowing the Sontarans to teleport things onboard their ship. (DW: The Sontaran Stratagem / The Poison Sky)
After the invasion was repelled, the pods came into the possession of UNIT. This led to the creation of Project Indigo. (DW: The Stolen Earth)
It is possible that the Teleport Pod is a technology related to the osmic projector. (DW: The Time Warrior), (MA: Lords of the Storm)
Locations
Teleport Pods were located in the ATMOS factory, Rattigan Academy and on the Sontaran flagship. Transport was possible between all three. (DW: The Sontaran Stratagem / The Poison Sky)
