An impact chamber is a safe room designed to resist collisions and explosions, similar to a bomb shelter. Max Capricorn had an impact chamber fitted on Deck 31 of the Titanic, and inside he could survive the destruction of the Titanic 's engines and power generation systems. (DW: Voyage of the Damned)
