Raphael was a painter who created works highly prized by the 20th century. During World War II, the priest, Father Antonio told Nazi officers who had invaded his church that he had a Raphael amongst the church's collection. When they doubted him, Antonio chastised them for not being able to recognise a Raphael, indicating the artist's relative fame. Impressed, the Nazis privately considered telling Reich-Marshal Goering about their unexpected find. (TVC: Treasure Trail)
