Ood

Can something be added about the ood? It's pretty obvious that one is appearing. User:Ghastly9090/sig 18:42, May 7, 2011 (UTC)

Hypercube

It seems likely from the next time trailers ect that the thing from the War Games is the Hypercube http://tardis.wikia.com/wiki/Hypercube can this be added to the Myths section? JCRendle 11:41, May 9, 2011 (UTC)

This is pretty much confirmed by this month's issue of Doctor Who Magazine. They call the thing in the trailer a "psychic message from the time lords." It's essentially the same thing seen in War Games. 82.24.93.170 14:04, May 11, 2011 (UTC)

Does anyone have any pictures of the cube in The War Games? it would be nice to have one up to see if they've changed in appearance. Rawrgoaway 11:37, May 13, 2011 (UTC)

Spelling

The next episode listed is 'The Rebel Flesh' not 'The rebel Fresh', change it now.

PleaseBoblipton 01:19, May 10, 2011 (UTC)

I agree, the name should be changed to "The Rebel Flesh". Flicky1991 20:36, May 12, 2011 (UTC)

Blue Peter Competition Tardis

Is it worth noting that Blue Peter have revealed that it's this episode in which the competition designed Tardis (from back in 2010) will appear - they're even making a toy of it which is called the 'Junk Tardis'Baziel 13:58, May 11, 2011 (UTC)

back in 2009 (says in doctor who confidential.) imagine waiting THAT long for your design to come into an episode...86.181.134.220 19:11, May 14, 2011 (UTC)

Confirmation of Myth

One of the myths, that viewers will see more of the TARDIS, has been confirmed by the recent issue of Doctor Who Magazine. We see an infinite corridore inside the TARDIS. We haven't seen an interior corridore in a long time, so this seems notable. It's also mentioned that a draft of the script had Rory getting trapped in a Zero Room.

Also, we'll deffinitely see the 9th/10th Doctor's TARDIS. Or at least the console room it used - confirmed by the official website here .

82.24.93.170 14:06, May 11, 2011 (UTC)

Just like to add that the myth about the Doctors Wife, which was "confirmed false" is, false. The conrimation at least. The TARDIS -is- the Doctors wife. I thought that was very, very apparant from the episode.

Series 5

Not only was this episode meant to be Episode 3 in Series 6, it was meant to be Episode 11 in Series 5, too. Also, the reason was because Steven Moffat thought that there was "not enough outside" in the first-half of the series. D0ct0r11 19:03, May 11, 2011 (UTC)

  • Yeah but Rory was dead in Episode 11 of Series 5, and the episode wouldn't really make sense without Rory. 86.181.228.222 14:00, May 28, 2011 (UTC)
    • Yeah I don't see how that was going to work (putting it in Series 5). Maybe just Amy in the Tardis along with an Auntie/Uncle equivalant? Doctorwho29 05:17, June 8, 2011 (UTC)

House/The House

Which one is it??? Geek Mythology 18:51, May 14, 2011 (UTC)

House. What one do you think it is? Mini-mitch\talk 18:53, May 14, 2011 (UTC)

Personaly I was a little diapointed they didnt explain what the House entity was. My money had been on a Great Vampire, the Black Guardian or Omega. Still it was written by one of the Torchwood writers so there are bound to be black hole sized plot holes :< = Servent of the Lost One

Torchwood writers? If you mean this episode then no it was written by Neil Gaiman. And it's not a plot hole to intentionally not reveal what the enemy actually was. Sometimes it's far better and much more menacing just to not know.Carnivius Prime 10:52, May 15, 2011 (UTC)

Secret Hidden Video thing

You know how the trivia on the website has had hidden messages. This one leads to a video

http://www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho/dw/videos/p00gygrl DanielM4712 19:18, May 14, 2011 (UTC)

It also has nothing to do with The Doctor's Wife. It's almost-100% certainly related to The Rebel Flesh. D0ct0r11 20:36, May 14, 2011 (UTC)
How is that related to the next episode it may be related to the season finale? 173.51.78.230 02:38, May 15, 2011 (UTC)

River in Forest

So Idris/"sexy (thing)" said that the only water to drink in the forest was the river has this not been said before? 173.51.78.230 02:47, May 15, 2011 (UTC)

Maybe it's something yet-to-happen, or it may be a refference to the Doctor's first meeting of River Song, in a forest of some type.   King of Noobs 13:30, May 15, 2011 (UTC)]]
Just a minor correction to 173.51.78.230's comment, the exact words that Rory says she said was "The only water in the forest is the river" Jobe1986 22:32, May 20, 2011 (UTC)
________________________________________________________________
Yeah, I think this is a reference to Forest of the Dead. The whole "forest" thing was referenced a lot in that episode. The Doctor will tell River that the "only water in the forest is the River" during the Doctor's last meeting with her (her first with him) and tell her that. By the time she meets the tenth doctor in the library, her genius brain will have brought it all into place and it all clicks. She will understand she has to die, and it all just works.
Please take this to the Howling. Thanks. Mini-mitch\talk 15:38, May 21, 2011 (UTC)

RTD-era control-room

Naturally this choice was made due to production cost evaluations .. but .. speaking in-DWU:

Might the choice of the control-room used by the 9th/10th incarnations of the Doctor as the backup used to enable Rory (& Amy) to lower the shields not be construed as a hint as to the reliability of those regenerations?!

The current (11th) incarnation seems to be very inept at keeping his companions out of trouble.

Flowtron 02:59, May 15, 2011 (UTC)

This belongs in The Howling. (But the use of it doesn't have anything to do with anything. It's probably because it was the closest backup room available.) ProtoKun7 21:09, May 15, 2011 (UTC)

Production Errors

On the page it states that the center wall of the custom built console went missing, I noticed that it's there when she sends the message to Rory (telling him to get out of the way) then its disappeared when she says "It's not going to hold" but when they materialize on the TARDIS all 3 walls are gone. Does it disappear at some point before that?

Also, while it may be a production error, isn't there also an in-universe explanation of 'it fell off' (especially since all 3 are missing when they materialize, and parts fell off before they even started)

Tau'ri Warrior 10:10, May 15, 2011 (UTC)

I agree. The scene where she is talking to Rory is immediately followed by a scene of a large spark and what appears to be the center wall blown away. By the time they materialize in the 9th/10th Doctor's control room, only the jagged remains of the very bottom of the left wall are left. It appears they were blown off in transit through the rift, meaning this is not a production error but was intentionally done by the production staff to show the makeshift console room was falling apart. I think Idris even said, "It's not going to hold" when the missing center wall is shown. This production error should be removed.

Idris' Backwards Talk

When Idris/Sexy Thing is seen in her cage after the Doctor/Amy/Rory decide to go 'see the sights' (roughly 10min 48secs into the episode) she says something that comes off as gibberish but seems to be something said backwards. Has anyone been able to play it in reverse to see what she says? Ponk 14:16, May 15, 2011 (UTC)

Its not something said backwards, at least not in english http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qbO65NoUyHc --Tau'ri Warrior 15:56, May 15, 2011 (UTC)

  • According to the Brilliant Book article it was supposed to be "The only water in the forest is the river" backwards at one point. Clearly it isn't, though. 68.146.80.110 18:05, November 8, 2011 (UTC)

fake rory

was it really a fake? the Tardis is a time machine, possible House changed the flow of time inside itself, so it could be the real Rory? --hanmac 21:31, May 15, 2011 (UTC)

Yes It was a possible future negated when they found each other again. 83.104.138.141 21:39, May 15, 2011 (UTC)
We don't really know that. The implication seems to be that it was a telepathic projection. Spreee 15:44, May 17, 2011 (UTC)Spreee

Archive

Wasnt it Idris who told the Doctor about the archived control rooms rather than vice versa? Should be changed. 83.104.138.141 21:39, May 15, 2011 (UTC)

Incorrect Continuity item

the doctor doesn't say "basically run" to the alliance nor during the pandorica opens episode, he says it to the Atraxi in the eleventh hour episode

Continuity

Idris calling the Doctor "Thief" and "My thief" as well as the whole exchange regarding who stole whom builds on previous fleeting references in various stories (beginning in the War Games, I believe) to the Doctor having stolen or "borrowed" the TARDIS.

Production Error

In the scene where everyone is being teleported back into the main control room as House deletes TARDIS rooms there is a rotating/moving thingamabob on the console. About a second before the teleport SFX there's a "jump" as they clip from one piece of video to another. 124.186.202.93 21:22, May 16, 2011 (UTC)

I know, I spotted that too. (There's also a bit of a mistake where Idris is holding the sonic screwdriver two different ways when she's holding it out for the Doctor to take back earlier on.) ProtoKun7 21:44, May 28, 2011 (UTC)

Finger-snapping

Just a note for the next person to do a wide-scan update (I don't have the time at the moment), this Doctor has been snapping his fingers to open the TARDIS throughout this season (and several times last season as well), not just in The Eleventh Hour. MCawdor 00:19, May 17, 2011 (UTC)

Eye Patch Lady

She didn't appear in this episode, did she? Or did she appear secretly, behind Amy's back or something, without Amy noticing? Cortion 13:13, June 1, 2011 (UTC)

  • No she didn't appear Doctorwho29 05:24, June 8, 2011 (UTC)

Bunk Beds Are Cool

Why did Amy and Rory want to ditch the bunk bed?

"Bunk beds are cool. Think about it! A bed with a ladder! You can't beat that!" 65.35.225.248 17:57, June 4, 2011 (UTC)

Think about it, they are married. They wouldn't want to sleep in the seperate bunks, for obvious reasons.

But it's still the same bed, doesn't that count? Even if it doesn't, as the Doctor always says, "Bunk beds are cool."

Robot king story at start

Don't know if this goes in both Continuity and Production Errors.

The story about the robot king sounds like part of the plot to The Androids Of Tara (http://tardis.wikia.com/wiki/The_Androids_of_Tara), from the Key to Time series.

If so, Amy was NOT there. Lmb02 06:37, July 22, 2011 (UTC)

    • There is nothing in that earlier story about the Doctor accidentally removing the real king's head. It's a different adventure. 68.146.71.145 14:44, July 24, 2011 (UTC)

Error needs to be repaired

Could someone with edit ability please fix an error in the plot synopsis? Idris does not say "the little boxes will make you mad", she says "angry". 68.146.71.145 14:44, July 24, 2011 (UTC)

Paul McGann's voice?

There's widespread speculation in fandom that Paul McGann's voice is heard when the Doctor activates Nephew's voicebox (the dominant male voice heard). I've yet to see anything confirming or denying this, but there's been enough fandom discussion about it that I think it justifies inclusion in the Myths section. 68.146.80.110 18:07, November 8, 2011 (UTC)

I'll be honest I never heard anyone say it and I don't remember hearing his voice. Although I haven't heard his voice that much so I doubt I'd reconize it. But yea I would say it's worth mentioning if you really heard a lot of people mention it. GrimmShadows talk to me 18:50, January 9, 2012 (UTC)

Time manipulation withing TARDIS

it says on the page "Time can be manipulated within the TARDIS itself, with two people near each other able to experience different time streams and alternate timelines (such as one in which Rory spends two thousand years alone)." Where is this information from? during the episode the implication seems to be that its an illusion of some sort (House screwing with Amy) 59.167.79.64talk to me 18:15, January 9, 2012 (UTC)Tau'ri Warrior
