D'Argenson was a counter-revolutionary in 18th century France. He and Rouvray encountered the First Doctor and his companions in a farmhouse twelve kilometres from Paris, where they were discovered by revolutionary soldiers. D'Argenson and Rouvray were killed in the attack. (DW: The Reign of Terror)
