Henry Nevil was an English MP who was a patient in St Christophe in 1783. (DW:Dead of Winter (novel))

Personality

Mr. Nevil was well-known for being a curmudgeon in the extreme: He complained incessantly about every single aspect of of his environment to anyone unfortunate enough to be within earshot. To him, every doctor was a "quack", and most other people was of questionable intelligence and judgement.

However, late in his stay, his abrasive personality and outlook softened somewhat after he found love with a fellow patient, Olivia Elquitine. She, along with his old pet dog, Stoker, are the only two known individuals whom he had ever genuinely loved.
