This page is only for discussing the editing of our main page.

If you want to talk about anything else, your best bet is to start a new thread in one of our forums.

  • Questions about editing, policy or wiki organisation are best laid before the Panopticon.
  • Questions about a single narrative or behind-the-scenes point — where that answer is likely a known fact, like "Who played <role> in <story>?" or "In which issues of DWM will you not find comics?" — are best put to the reference desk
  • If you want to speculate about future episodes, and don't mind being spoiled, go to the Howling.

Shouldn't the home page have a link to the newest episode somewhere? There used to be a link to it but now that's the randomiser thing.

Sign your posts in future. Anyway, I agree with this, but you posted it in the wrong place. Try the forums.  Digifiend  Talk  PR/SS  KR  MH  Toku  JD  Garo  TH  CG  UM  Logos  CLG  DW  02:48,10/4/2012

Someone really needs to keep track of the main page: look at the most recnt BF release bit: Black and White? We've had THREE releases in the main range since then! 114.30.106.233talk to me 11:17, October 29, 2012 (UTC)

The november releases are now out. The main page is seriously out of date. 182.239.154.28talk to me 12:03, November 10, 2012 (UTC)
Yep it is. Please register an account and change the page. This wiki doesn't just fix itself :)

I thought only the admins could edit the front page. Whoops (same anon). 219.90.209.115talk to me 07:04, December 18, 2012 (UTC)
God, no. We admin aren't suicidal. The less stuff that's admin-only, the better. We do prevent anon users from editing the front page modules — to prevent spam bots from takin' over the joint — but any registered user can edit 'em.

Randomiser

Maybe we should have a separate randomiser for NuWHo and Classic Who. Often I'm looking for one or the other.

Quote of the Week failure

"Don't like this quote? Reload the page to get a different one! ✍" This is a lie. It's determined by week, so reloading does nothing. The front page is so convoluted that I can't fix it. The preceding unsigned comment was added by Psicraft (talk • contribs) .

It's not determined by week, though it used to be. It does in fact "re-roll" the page on each page load. However, there is the possibility that you will roll the same quote twice. I suppose there's also the possibility that you could roll it a third or fourth time in a row, though I've not experienced that. It does work as advertised, within the limits of random chance, and the total number of quotes in the hopper.
