Alternate timeline VS. not DWU
Should this be considered an alternate timeline and added to Melanie Bush's page? Although it's, technically speaking, not canon (and neither does it involve any of the characters from the regular 'verse), it is a time line where Melanie did not travel with the Doctor. - Because this wiki doesn't consider this story to be part of the Doctor Who universe, it can't go on any in-universe page, including Mel's. Shambala108 ☎ 04:11, February 15, 2013 (UTC)
- Just from looking at the article, I don't really see why it should be considered not part of the DWU in the first place. I think it's simply an alternate reality, which we do cover. Then again, I haven't listened to the story. If there is a good reason, you should indicate it in the article. After telling me here, of course... SOTO ☎ 04:41, February 15, 2013 (UTC)
- This story has the "notdwu" tag, which means we don't cover it . The decision was probably made in a forum discussion ages ago. If you want you can dig through the Forum:Panopticon archives to see.Shambala108 ☎ 04:59, February 15, 2013 (UTC)
- I went through the archives and searched for everything possibly related. Nothing. But looking at the edit history of this page, Tybort claims that "per forum discussions and T:VS, this isn't part of the DWU." Weird, since I can find no such "forum discussions." Not that I don't believe him. I also looked at Category:Inclusion debates. Still nothing. Is it possible that it's not officially licensed? SOTO ☎ 05:17, February 15, 2013 (UTC)
- The Unbound DW audio stories are all considered non-canon, but I've noticed that there are certain stories where alternate timelines are considered a part of the DWU. Out of curiosity, just what is the difference? What makes an alternate timeline not a part of DWU? PotterheadWhovian17 ☎ 05:22, February 15, 2013 (UTC)PotterheadWhovian17
- Well, you kind of answered your own question. This alternate timeline is not covered because it's Unbound. In Forum:The original inclusion debates the Unbound series was listed as one of the not DWU series. I'm not sure why, I haven't found the reasoning for that yet, but it's gotta be here somewhere.
