Gita Chandra was the wife of Haresh Chandra, and mother of Rani Chandra. She moved into Bannerman road with her family when children where being ubducted by a clown known as Odd Bob the Clown. When she first met Sarah Jane Smith she told her that Rani wanted to be a Journalist like Sarah and believed Rani to be doing work experience with Sarah as she was defeating the Pied Piper. She appeared at that point to be a homemaker, and claimed that the reason she had recently gained weight was because her husband had a Dawn French fetish. (SJA: Day of the Clown)
