Dave Oswald was the husband of Ellie Oswald and the father of Clara Oswald. He first met Ellie in 1981, after a leaf hit his face and she saved him from being run over by a car. They fell in love, married, and had a baby called Clara. They lived together until Ellie's death, in 2005. He comforted Clara at the funeral. (TV: The Rings of Akhaten)
Years later, he spoke to the Eleventh Doctor on the telephone while Clara was sleeping. He was very cross with the British government. The Doctor wrote several pages of notes on that. (TV: The Bells of Saint John)
According to his daughter, his favourite James Bond movie was Live and Let Die. (COMIC: A Wing and a Prayer)
