On 17 October, a number of things set in or relevant to the Doctor Who universe were released or published.
- 1970 - Part seven of TV Comic story Doctor Who and the Robot was first published.
- 1979 - Doctor Who Weekly was launched by Marvel Comics with its very first issue. The magazine contained comic stories part one of Doctor Who and the Iron Legion and part one of Return of the Daleks.
- 1991 - Timewyrm: Apocalypse was first published by Virgin Books.
- 1991 - The Gallifrey Chronicles was first published by Doctor Who Books.
- 2006 - Doctor Who Adventures comic story Pinball Wizard was first published.
- 2007 - Doctor Who: Battles in Time comic story Crime After Crime was first published.
- 2011 - Part one of The Man Who Never Was was first broadcast on CBBC.
- 2012 - DWDVDF 99 was first published by GE Fabbri Ltd.
