Hywel was the king of Wales at the time of the coronation of Athelstan, king of the English. At Athelstan's coronation in 924, Hywel gave him what came to be known as the Cup of Athelstan, as witnessed by an unknown incarnation of the Doctor. (TV: Planet of the Dead)
