The mother and father of Santiago Jones followed in the footsteps of Santiago's grandmother Josephine Jones in the environmental and ecological movement. During a climate change conference, he was arrested twice. Because of their lifestyle, his family was often scattered all over the world, which caused Santiago to feel estranged.
