Welcome to the Tardis:About Buckimion

Thanks for your edits! We hope you'll keep on editing with us. This is a great time to have joined us, because now you can play the Game of Rassilon with us and win cool stuff! Well, okay, badges. That have no monetary value. And that largely only you can see. But still: they're cool!

We've got a couple of important quirks for a Wikia wiki, so let's get them out of the way first.
British English, please
We generally use British English round these parts, so if you're American, please be sure you set your spell checker to BrEng, and take a gander at our spelling cheat card.
Spoilers aren't cool
We have a strict definition of "spoiler" that you may find a bit unusual. Basically, a spoiler, to us, is anything that comes from a story which has not been released yet. So, even if you've got some info from a BBC press release or official trailer, it basically can't be referenced here. In other words, you gotta wait until the episode has finished its premiere broadcast to start editing about its contents. Please check the spoiler policy for more details.
Other useful stuff
Aside from those two things, we also have some pages that you should probably read when you get a chance, like:

If you're brand new to wiki editing — and we all were, once! —  you probably want to check out these tutorials at Wikipedia, the world's largest wiki:

Remember that you should always sign your comments on talk and vote pages using four tildes like this:

Image policies

Hi! Please make sure you read all of our image policies, which are located at Thread:148148. In particular, we have some very specific rules for infobox images (see also Tardis:Guide to images), which User:Tybort is very familiar with, and that's why he replaced your images with images that match our specifications. Thanks. Shambala108 02:29, October 31, 2014 (UTC)

Do you mind giving me the short version of exactly what was wrong? I've been jumping through hoops to comply and is irritates me when people just seem to want to replace images with their own. --Buckimion 02:32, October 31, 2014 (UTC)

Hi there :)

Howdy! Thanks for your recent edits. We hope you enjoy being here. However, I just wanted to make sure that you've familiarised yourself with T:GTI, our guide to good image choices. For infoboxes, we generally try to get true closeups, not merely one-shots. At Ruby (In the Forest of the Night), you appear to have recently reverted a superior closeup. The idea for infobox images is that they should instantly identify the character without forcing the reader to squint or zoom in on the image. Please do not re-emplace that same image, as it's insufficient for an infobox.

Also, please remember that while it's good to have a sense of pride about one's own work, we all have to work together to create the best encyclopedia about Doctor Who that we can. Telling someone that they should take their images elsewhere does not fall within that spirit. Next time someone removes one of your pictures, it will likely be more instructive if you go to them and ask them why they did that, and then you can begin a constructive dialogue over the best picture for a page.

Thanks again for your edits and your enthusiasm! :)

I see that Shambala108 already left a message for you. I just wanted to assure you that it's unusual for two admin to respond to a user about the same thing. This was just an accident of timing. :) However, since you asked for greater specifics of what you had done wrong, I'll take this opportunity to point you towards the specific part of our guide to images that you offended. Thanks again :)
