Talk:2009 Specials (Doctor Who)
Sources!
Okay, seriously, if you add info to this article, add a reference backing up whatever you're adding. Especially if you're gonna add something as confusing as "David Tennant has stated he will stay until 2011, but this may not be true." Thank you. LostRaccoon 14:01, 19 October 2008 (UTC)
- On a similar note, just because you can source something, doesn't mean it should necessarily be in the article. The following was the last statement in the lead of this article:
- Tennant is currently in negotiations which may see him staying as the Doctor until 2011. Cite error: Invalid
<ref>
tag; invalid names, e.g. too many

- That's absolutely irrelevant to the topic of the 2009 specials. He has repeatedly said he's going to be in all of the specials, which is the only thing this article should address. If you want to move the statement over to the Series 5 article, I've preserved it here for an easy cut and paste. Also, it might be of some use for a potential Series 6 page, in case we want to track the long process of casting the Doctor in that series. CzechOut ☎ | ✍ 16:25, 19 October 2008 (UTC)
- I didn't add that info to this article. I just reformated what the user before me added to be actually informative. Being sort of new to this wikia, I'm uncomfortable deciding to delete info others add, but I did know that if it was going to be in the article at all, it ought to be in the lead paragraph which discussed Tennant's involvement, and needed to be sourced. - And obviously the report turned out to be false, anyway. 23skidoo 16:26, 30 October 2008 (UTC)
- So why is it okay to have speculation on who will replace Tennant in this article if speculation on how long Tennant was staying wasn’t okay? I'm not trying to be argumentative, I genuinely am trying to understand how you decide what’s relevant and what’s not. LostRaccoon 23:31, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

Suggest renaming the article
We're now seeing reports that the last special is actually being aired in 2010. Should this article, therefore, be renamed 2009-2010 Specials? 23skidoo 16:26, 30 October 2008 (UTC)
- I'd say wait until we get told officially when the last special will be, before we change the name. Jack's the man - 20:18, 30 October 2008 (UTC)
2008 Christmas Special Content
(possible SPOILERS) Should content from the 2008 Christmas Special be included here? It does really play around with the question of whether David Morrissey's character is the next doctor or not. I would be tempted to add "though the 2008 Christmas special suggests he will not be the next Doctor" to the David Morrissey mention, but am not sure if it would be too much of a spoiler for this page. Anyways, up to you all to decide. 68.39.217.127 07:17, 26 December 2008 (UTC)
River Song?
Since david tennant is leaving the series (and presumably the Tenth Doctor is leaving with him), isn't it likely that River will be re-appearing in the specials as she recognizes the tenth doctor? If anything will she see him regenerate; which also seems likely given her knowledge of it in Forest of the Dead. - Bluesilver 16:25, 27 December 2008 (UTC)
The Next Doctor
I removed info on it from this page because it is part of the 2008 season-season four-and not part of the 2009 specials. I also rewrote the start to make sense. Wikipedia and other sources list it as part of the fourth season. Plus, it was filmed alongside season four and not with the specials. So I would say these don't include it.--Golden Monkey 22:25, 27 December 2008 (UTC)
