The Allies, or Allied Powers were one of the two major alliances fighting on Earth during World War II (1939-1945), opposing the Axis Powers. Its main constituents were considered to be the United Kingdom, the United States of America, the Soviet Union and France. One of their key leaders was Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Winston Churchill, who conducted his operations from the Cabinet War Rooms in London. At one point during the Blitz, they enlisted the aid of the Daleks, which they believed to be the invention of one of their scientists, Edwin Bracewell. Through at least Churchill, they were also able to call on the Doctor's help from time to time. The Doctor's eleventh incarnation and at least one other were known to have been on friendly terms with the Prime Minister. (TV: Victory of the Daleks) [additional sources needed]

On 8 May 1945, the Allies' victory over Germany was marked by VE Day. A major celebration took place in Trafalgar Square in London. (PROSE: Magic of the Angels) The Seventh Doctor and his companions Ace and Hex were present in London for the celebrations. (AUDIO: Casualties of War)
