In Last Christmas (TV story) to convince her he is real, Santa Claus says 3 words to Shona McCullough: my little pony. This causes her to react defensively and hold up her fingernails to his face, threatening to mark him.

Influence

  • w:c:MLP:Dr. Hooves: originally a background character nicknamed Doctor Whooves by fans (based on his hourglass marking) he was later called Time Turner in 2012 (Enterplay cards and IDW comics) but this was later changed to Dr. Hooves in 2013 (Gameloft mobile game update and Mighty Fine merchandise).
  • The Midtown Comics variant cover for issue 2 of the IDW series references the orange-brown scarf of the Fourth Doctor, a street lamp shaped like the TARDIS and a pony-shaped Weeping Angel.
  • Issue 19 of the Friendship is Magic comic series went beyond the hourglass mark and also parodied the hat and curly hair of the Seventh Doctor
  • background characters in the show that resemble the Third, Fifth, and Eleventh Doctors
  • in It Ain't Easy Being Breezies, Doctor Whooves is seen in the company of another pony previously named Rose while wearing some 3D glasses, a shout-out to Army of Ghosts and Doomsday.
