Ordinal-General of the Brotherhood of Kithriarchs, Quencessetianobayolocaturgrathadadeyyilungbarrowmas (known as Quences) was the Kithriarch of the House of Lungbarrow. Quences was a very proud individual and was regarded by the rest of his Family as stuffy, stuck-up, and sometimes unhelpful.

The Doctor was Quences' favourite of the Family, and Quences was said to have doted on him. Quences even gave the Doctor Badger when he was young, and was proud of how clever the Doctor was, even so it was he who had to make the final decision to disown the Doctor. He was led into this decision by the Housekeeper Satthaltrope when the Doctor announced he’d rather be a doctor than try to become the first of the Family ever appointed Lord Cardinal. Quences later regretted this decision and when it came time for him to die for the last time (at more than 7,000 years old) he refused to read his will until all of the Family—including the disowned Doctor—were present. He insisted on this because he intended to name the Doctor his successor as Kithriarch. Glospin who had wanted to be named the next Kithriarch, and who had a personal grudge against the Doctor murdered Quences, hoping that by doing so he could subvert Quences' will. This action led to the House of Lungbarrow and its family being buried and forgotten. (NA: Lungbarrow)
