User talk:PicassoAndPringles
Thanks for your edits! We hope you'll keep on editing with us. This is a great time to have joined us, because now you can play the Game of Rassilon with us and win cool stuff! Well, okay, badges. That have no monetary value. And that largely only you can see. But still: they're cool!
We've got a couple of important quirks for a Wikia wiki, so let's get them out of the way first.
British English, please
We generally use British English round these parts, so if you're American, please be sure you set your spell checker to BrEng, and take a gander at our spelling cheat card.
Spoilers aren't cool
We have a strict definition of "spoiler" that you may find a bit unusual. Basically, a spoiler, to us, is anything that comes from a story which has not been released yet. So, even if you've got some info from a BBC press release or official trailer, it basically can't be referenced here. In other words, you gotta wait until the episode has finished its premiere broadcast to start editing about its contents. Please check the spoiler policy for more details.
Other useful stuff
Aside from those two things, we also have some pages that you should probably read when you get a chance, like:
- the listing of all our help, policy and guideline pages
- our Manual of Style
- our image use policy
- our user page policy
- a list of people whose job it is to help you
If you're brand new to wiki editing — and we all were, once! — you probably want to check out these tutorials at Wikipedia, the world's largest wiki:
Remember that you should always sign your comments on talk and vote pages using four tildes like this:Thanks for becoming a member of the TARDIS crew! If you have any questions, see the Help pages, add a question to one of the Forums or ask on my talk page. Revanvolatrelundar ☎ 01:00, September 5, 2013 (UTC)
Vandalism edit
Hi! I appreciate your reverting of vandalism at Mickey Smith, but I do have a request. If you have to do so again, all you have to do is leave an edit summary stating that you are reverting vandalism (as you did on the Mickey Smith page). There is no need to leave a message on the offender's talk page for two important reasons: 1. it draws more attention to the vandalism, and 2. anonymous users don't get notifications when their talk pages are edited, so the offender will most likely never get your message.
Thanks for your help! Shambala108 ☎ 03:19, September 5, 2013 (UTC)
Thanks, I didn't know. I will avoid it in the future.PicassoAndPringles ☎ 03:30, September 5, 2013 (UTC)
Christmas cheer
As this fiftieth anniversary year comes to a close, we here at Tardis just want to thank you for being a part of our community — even if you haven't edited here in a while. If you have edited with us this year, then thanks for all your hard work.
This year has seen an impressive amount of growth. We've added about 11,000 pages this year, which is frankly incredible for a wiki this big. November was predictably one of the busiest months we've ever had: over 500 unique editors pitched in. It was the highest number of editors in wiki history for a year in which only one programme in the DWU was active. And our viewing stats have been through the roof. We've averaged well over 2 million page views each week for the last two months, with some weeks seeing over 4 million views!
We've received an unprecedented level of support from Wikia Staff, resulting in all sorts of new goodies and productive new relationships. And we've recently decided to lift almost every block we've ever made so as to allow most everyone a second chance to be part of our community.
2014 promises to build on this year's foundations, especially since we've got a full, unbroken series coming up — something that hasn't happened since 2011. We hope you'll stick with us — or return to the Tardis — so that you can be a part of the fun!
Tele-snap of Camfield's Fairy Milk Chocolate
Hi PicassoAndPringles,
Just thought I'd drop you a line to thank you for adding to Camfield's Fairy Milk Chocolate the tele-snap of the chocolate bar being removed from the platform vending machine by Driver Evans.
I very much appreciate your help and efforts in tracking down this elusive tele-snap which — until now — could only be seen on the DVD.
Who knows, perhaps one day we'll see a bar of Camfield's Fairy Milk Chocolate (which I personally consider to be the Doctor Who universe's equivalent of the real-life Cadbury's Dairy Milk) again, this time in the new series... Freddie R. Aldous ☎ 11:11, July 6, 2014 (UTC)
Spam in forums
Hi! Thanks for removing the spam in the forums, but in the future, if you do so, please let an admin know so the original poster can be blocked. Thanks. Shambala108 ☎ 14:15, August 16, 2014 (UTC)
- Gotcha, though I certainly didn't get any notifications. Must be a flaw in the system. Shambala108 ☎ 16:05, August 16, 2014 (UTC)
- Got it, thanks, I've blocked this particular name and removed the thread, which for some reason wasn't removed before. Shambala108 ☎ 17:36, August 20, 2014 (UTC)

I'm sorry. I didn't know about hidden categories I'll restore them. Slughorn42 ☎ 22:28, September 2, 2014 (UTC)

Thanks for contacting me. I'll be sure to make sure I only create new pages I have all the info to. TheAnonJade

Screenshots sought
Hi PiccassoAndPringles,
I'm looking for screenshots to illustrate two pages I recently created for TARDIS Data Core: Imperial and Phil Madison.
As you very kindly supplied the tele-snap for another of my created pages, Camfield's Fairy Milk Chocolate, and having heard you have quite the collection where screenshots etc. are concerned, do you happen to have images of:
- the 100 Imperials coin flipped by Adric in Warriors' Gate,
- and
- the robotised Phil Madison, as played by Peter Badger in The Dalek Invasion of Earth?
If so, please feel free to add these to the respective pages next time you're on TARDIS Data Core. This would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks. -- Freddie R. Aldous ☎ 11:14, September 18, 2014 (UTC)
Re: Screenshots sought
Hi PicassoAndPringles,
Just thought I'd drop you a line to thank you for adding the image to Phil Madison; the page looks much better now.
With regard to Imperial, don't worry about the low quality image of the 100 Imperials coin, as this is better than nothing. Thanks also for putting me right about it being Aldo who flipped this particular piece of currency in Warriors' Gate part one. It just goes to show how long it's been since I watched the story! :-) Anyway, I've now revised the page accordingly and added the image of the coin.
Once again, thank you for all your help.

Good morning, I see you've cleared out a lot of the less interesting chapter title entries I've made recently in the Target books and Virgin New Adventures entries. I was going for a consistency between entries in having a chapter titles section, but I can see where that's not necessarily ^helpful^ on my part, just a little OCD.
Have a good day, Soundacious ☎ 10:35, October 29, 2014 (UTC)
Infoboxes
I'm doing some work on another wiki and was admiring your infoboxes. Is there any advice or templates you can suggest for me to try to emulate your impressive infoboxes? – The preceding unsigned comment was added by Jb masta (talk • contribs) .
Leaving messages on other users' talk pages
Hi! I'm not sure exactly how to put this, but you need to moderate your tone when you leave messages on other users' talk pages. I haven't really felt it necessary to say anything until tonight, when you left a message at User talk:BananaClownMan about Tardis:Spoiler policy. To the uninitiated user, you come off sounding like an admin. There was no need for you to mention that he's been warned before; all that is necessary is to point the user to the policy page(s) in question, and if there is a problem, then let an admin know so they can deal with it.
Please, when leaving a message on other users' talk pages, refrain from using words like "warning", "enforce", or anything else that implies you have the ability to enforce policy on this wiki. For new users, it's not always obvious who is and who isn't an admin. Thanks. Shambala108 ☎ 06:52, February 19, 2015 (UTC)
